Support the CSL

The California Senior Legislature operates with a budget just under $300,000 per year. The largest expenditure is for travel to meet with Legislators and the annual Legislative Session in October; next is staff costs.

The CSL is funded primarily through three sources:

Friends of the CSL

Supporters can join and assist the efforts of the California Senior Legislature by becoming a Friend of the CSL. Annual memberships cost $20 per person. Friends of the CSL can help the CSL in its efforts to:

  • Provide input on issues affecting seniors in California that need to be addressed through legislation;
  • Promote legislative proposals drafted by CSL;
  • Promote its accomplishments and serve as a resource on senior issues; and
  • Interact with other citizens groups, organizations and agencies.

Friends of the CSL receive our monthly e-newsletter, membership card, e-alerts and notifications of special events.

 California Senior Citizen Advocacy Voluntary Tax Contribution Fund

We are largely funded through donations made to the California Senior Citizen Advocacy Voluntary Tax Contribution Fund via the California State Voluntary Tax Contribution Form, included each year on the California Resident Income Tax Return Form 540, Code 438.
